Are you feeling down and need a pick me up? Are you looking for a new Vegetarian restaurant in Kansas City? Well I have an answer to both of these questions in one local restaurant, Cafe Gratitude. It’s located just off Southwest Boulevard and Broadway.
Shelley, our waitress, was great. Even though we sat outside, where sometimes people can get forgotten about, that was the opposite. Service was great.
I am a sucker for freshly squeezed juices. I ordered “I am Rich” which is orange, carrots, lemon, and beets. It came in two sizes. The smaller size cost $5 and the larger, $8. It as absolutely delicious and what I needed for breakfast that morning. Then I also ordered “I am Magical” which was a homemade veggie burger on sprouted wheat bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, spicy cashew mustard, served with a side salad. The side salad had a fig balsamic vinegrette. Then my friend had “I am Creative” which was a raw pizza with tomato, basil, olive, tapenad, nut parmesan, and cashew ricotta cheese on a live onion sunflower pizza crust, served with the same side salad.
When we were served our food, Shelley said “You are Magical” or “You are Creative.” The food was so delicious. The freshness of the food, I was definitely not surprised that all of their produce came from a local from just south east of the city. Not only was the food delicious it was very filling.
To those who don’t think vegetarian food can be delicious, my thoughts are that you haven’t had a well seasoned vegetarian meal. That can make a big deal on how well it can taste. I say go to Cafe Gratitude and enjoy a well seasoned vegetarian food.
A meal could cost you around $15 – $20, including a juice and tip. A little pricey maybe, but you are getting fresh, good quality food, and it’s very filling. Go check out Cafe Gratitude.
